Property owners who feel they are over assessed have the opportunity to present their information to the Board of Assessment Review (BAR).  The BAR is made up of 5 residents of the Town of Palmyra. The BAR makes its independent decision based on evidence submitted to prove the value of the property. The BAR can only review your Assessment.
 

Grievance day is typically the fourth Tuesday of May each year.
 

The property owner must complete and submit form (RP-524) to be heard.  You may make an appointment to appear before the BAR when your form and supporting documentation is turned in.  You do not need to be present to be heard, just be sure to have all documentation that you would like the BAR to review with your form.  Please see the Instructions for RP-524 (RP-524-Ins) for filing deadline information.

Applications are not taken before the filing of the Tentative Assessment Roll – on or about May 1st.
