1887 Palmyra Town Meeting
Minutes
At the Annual Town Meeting held in and for the Town of Palmyra on Tuesday March 1st 1887

Jas. Bourne Jr. having become disqualified by reason of canvassing for election Frank H. Brown was appointed Clerk Pro Tem
Board formed an organization with M. C. Finley as chairman who at eight o’clock declared the Polls open and a proclamation made that they would close at 5:30 P.M.
At one o’clock meeting was called to order and the different Town Officers presented their reports which on motion were accepted and adopted by vote of the meeting.
It was also moved and adopted that the Supervisor be instructed to withdraw the appeal in the Lakey suit.
The following resolution was moved and unanimously adopted – That the Commissioner for the burial of honorably discharged Soldiers, Sailors and Marines and the erection of Tombstones for this Town be and he hereby is instructed and authorized to furnish Transportation to a Soldiers Home for any such Soldier, Sailor or Marine who is in indigent circumstances and requests to be removed to such home and the expense of such removal shall be a charge upon thisTown.
We the undersigned Justices of the Peace of the Town of Palmyra do hereby certify that the following named persons were duly elected to the office set opposite their respective names.
