Meeting of the Board of Town Auditors of the Town of Palmyra held Tuesday Feb. 22nd 1881

Highway Commissioners report was presented and approved
Board then adjourned until Saturday Feb. 26 , 1881

Board met pursuant to adjournment and proceeded to examine Poor Masters accounts, which could not be completed and Board adjourned until Monday Feb. 28, 1881

Board met pursuant to adjournment, to finish examination of Poor Masters accounts, which were found to agree with vouchers and were accepted.
Board then adjourned sine die

Annual Town Meeting Minutes 1881
At the Annual Town Meeting held in the Village Hall, in and for the Town of Palmyra Tuesday March 1st 1881
Present presiding
Ornon Archer, M. C. Finley, H. J. Foster, Geo. G. Jessup Justices

At eight o’clock the polls were declared open and the electors then proceeded to ballot for Town Officers, and a proclamation made to close at 5 o’clock town time.
At 1:30 the Supervisor read his report which was approved and accepteddd
The report of the commissioners was then read and approved
The report of the Overseer of the Poor was read and approved
The recommendation of the Board of Auditors to raise by tax, Fifteen Hundred dollars for the support of the poor for the coming year was adopted
The following resolution was read and adopteddd
Resolved, That the Highway Commissioners of the town be reduced from three to one, the number to be reduced by the expiration of the term of office of the present commissioners.
It was moved and carried, that the Town appropriate a sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars, for the purchase of a safe for the better preservation of the town records.
We the undersigned presiding officers of the Town Meeting held March 1st 1881 do hereby certify, that the following persons were duly elected to the offices set opposite their respective names, they having received the highest number of votes for said office.

We do hereby appoint Joseph Blaby, in district No. 1 and Anson Hillimire in district No. 2, in said Town Inspectors of election, in said districts respectively, to be associated with the two in said districts, who have been this day elected Inspectors of election. The said Joseph Plaby and Anson S. Hillimire, each being the persons who received the highest number of votes for said office next those elected.
