At the annual town meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Palmyra held pursuant to adjournment at the public house occupied by Butler Newton in the Village of Palmyra on Tuesday the Second day of April 1844 present Frederick Smith ? George W Cuyler ? to Isaac C Bucker? ? Justices of the Peace in and for said town and Augustus Elmendorf Town Clerk.
Voted That three assessors and town constables be chosen for the ensuing year
The following named persons having received the greatest number of votes are declared duly elected to the several and respective offices for which they are respectively named to wit

Voted That the board of Supervisors of this county are hereby authorized to cause to be raised by tax on this town the ensuing year two hundred dollars in addition to two hundred and fifty dollars the sum allowed by law to pay for constructing or repairing roads and bridges in said town
Voted that the collector of this town be allowed three per cent for the collection of taxes the ensuing year.
Adopted the following resolution presented by the supervisor and read to the meeting and ? = via Resolved by the board of supervisors of wayne county that the legislature of this state be requested to ? a law authorizing said board to sell the poorhouses and farm attached thereto belonging to said county and providing that each town in said county shall support its own poor = whenever the said board state thus be instructed by the several towns of the said county.
Voted that this meeting stand adjourned untill the first Tuesday of April ? then to be held at the Public House (Butler Still house) now held by Butler Newton in the village of palmyra at 10 o clock am

We the Board of town Officers of the town of Palmyra at the annual town meeting held therein on the 2nd day of April 1844 = Do certify that we have and we do hereby appoint the following named persons to be Inspectors of Elections respectively in the two election districts in said town to wit Eldred? Parker one of the Inspectors of election for district number one in the said town of Palmyra and Jacob Norris one of the inspectors of election for district number two in palmyra aforesaid.
The said Eldred Parker and the said Jacob Norris having received the greatest number of votes for Inspectors of election for the respective districts to which they are named ? to the inspectors duly elected by the people

Town of Palmyra
Lucas G Buckley and Oliver H Palmer are hereby appointed Inspectors of Election in and for districts no. 1 in said town of Palmyra the first named to supply the vacancy ? by the neglect to file his acceptance and the removal from the town of Eldred Parker, and the second named to supply the vacancy occasioned by the neglect to file his acceptance and the inability to serve of Bruce Everson. And Jacob Norris is hereby appointed inspector of election in and for district number 2 in said town of Palmyra to supply the vacancy occasioned by the neglect of the said Norris to file his acceptance at Inspector of election for said district number 2 to which he had been appointed.
