Tuesday 7th day of April 1840
At the annual town meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Palmyra held pursuant to adjournment at the public house occupied by Asa Lilly in the Village of Palmyra on Tuesday the 7th day of April 1840.

Voted – That three assessors, three constables, and one pound master be chosen for the ensuing year.
The following persons having received the greatest number of votes are declared duly elected to the several and respective offices, viz:

Voted – That the Supervisor be directed to refund one-half the tax levied for the year 1839 on the personal property belonging to the estate of the late Nathaniel Beckwith deceased
Voted – That the supervisor be and hereby is directed to procure a legal standard for weights and measures for this town –
Voted - That the Collector receive 5 per cent for collecting the taxes this year.
Voted - That this meeting stand adjourned until the first Tuesday of April next, then to be held at the public House now occupied by W. P. Nottingham in the Village of Palmyra at 9 Oclock A. M.
