Tuesday  4th day of April 1837

 

 

At the annual Town Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Palmyra held at the Town House in the Village of Palmyra in said Town on Tuesday the 4th day of April l837.

 

                                                Present

Frederick Smith Ambrose Salisbury William Willcox and Isaac E. Beecher Justices of the Peace and inspectors of said meeting.

 

Voted – That we choose three Asesors and two constables

 

The following persons having received the greatest number of votes are declared duly elected to the several and respective offices                                                                                     To wit:

Thomas Lakey  -  Asessor

Lyman Reeves – Asessor

Draper Allen – Asessor

Draper Allen – Commisioner of Highway

Schools

Isaac E. Beecher – Commisioner of Schools

Voted – That we memorialize the Legislature to allow the Supervisor to raise by Tax five hundred dollars in addition to the sum allowed by law each year for the three succeeding years to be appropriated to repairing and building bridges in said Town.

 

Voted – That this meeting stand adjourned until the first Tuesday of April next – Then to be held at the Town House at 10 o’clock AM
