1833 Minutes
1833 Minutes: At the annual town meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Palmyra held at the Presbyterian Meeting House in the Village of Palmyra in said town on Tuesday, April 2nd, 1833, present: Frederick Smith and Marlin W. Willcox, Esquires, Justices of the Peace of said town and Inspectors of said election.
Voted that we choose three Assessors.
Voted that we choose four Constables.
Voted that the Town Sealer and Justices of the Peace be elected by ballot and on the same ticket with the other officers.
Voted that the Commissioners and Inspectors of Common Schools be allowed $1 per day for them.
Voted that the collector have 5% for collecting.
Voted that the Fence Viewers be allowed two shillings each for each time they are called upon to act and do act.
The following persons having received the greatest number of votes are declared to be duly elected to the several and respective offices: Frederick Smith – Supervisor

Voted that fences in order to be sufficient shall be 4½ feet high.
Voted that this meeting stand adjourned until the first Tuesday of April next, then to be held at the Presbyterian Meeting House in the village of Palmyra at 10:00 a.m. T. R. Strong, Town Clerk

Broke into the subscriber’s enclosure on or about
November 15th last, three yearling steers with no ear marks, described as follows: 1st, a yellow steer with a white face; 2nd, a black spotted with white on the belly; 3rd, a red steer with star on the forehead. Bailey Durfee
