Minutes for Palmyra, New York
We, the Commissioners of Common Schools for the Town of Palmyra, do determine and declare that that part of School District No. 17 in the Town of Palmyra, which contains Lots No. 41, 42, 55, 56, 64, 65, 66, and all that part of Lot No. 57 lying north of the center of the highway leading east and west 100 rods north of the south line of said Lot No. 57 in Township No. 12, 3rd Range be set off and known by the name of School District No. 18 in the Town of Palmyra.
Dated at Palmyra this 5th day of March, 1821.

The following alteration is made in School District No. 14 being parts of Palmyra and Perinton: beginning at the southeast coerner of Lot No. 1, Perinton, thence west to the southwest corner of said lot, thence north to David Stout’s southeast coerner, thence west to said Stout’s southwest corner, thence north to Ebenezer Stone’s southeast corner, thence west to said Stone’s southwest corner, thence north to the southwest corner of Lot No. 114, thence east ½ mile, thence north ¾ mile, thence east 1 mile to the town line, thence south to the place of beginning to be known and distinguished by district No. 10 in Perinton.

At the annual town meeting held at the meetinghouse in the village of Palmyra on Tuesday, April 3rd, 1821. Present: Thomas P. Baldwin, William A. McLean, and Abraham Spear – Justices of the Peace, Inspectors of said meeting.
The meeting having been opened, Voted that James White serve as Supervisor the year ensuing.
Voted: Frederick Smith serve as Town Clerk the year ensuing.
Voted the town shall have but three assessors the year ensuing.
Voted: Abraham Spear, Nathaniel H. Beckwith, and Stephen Sherman serve as Assessors the year ensuing.
Voted: James S. Stoddard, Thomas Rogers II, and Ira Lapham serve as Commissioners of Highways the year ensuing.
Voted that the town pay but 3% for collecting the tax of said Town of Palmyra the year ensuing.
Voted: Henry Jessup and George Cram serve as Overseers of the Poor the year ensuing.
Voted: Jonathan Ramsdale serve as Collector the year ensuing.
Voted: James White, Frederick Smith, and Asa B. Smith serve as Commissioners of Common Schools the year ensuing.
Voted: John Lapham, Mattby Clark, and William White serve as Inspectors of Common Schools the year ensuing.
Voted that the town shall elect four Constables and no more the year ensuing.
Voted: Ashley Vanduzen, Daniel Hendee, Elisha W. Cobb, and Mattby Clark serve as Constables the year ensuing.
Voted: The following persons were then chosen to serve as Overseers of Highways the year ensuing:

John Norris’ mark: A slit in the upper and lower side of the right ear and a slit in the end of the left ear. Entered April 4th, 1821.
Peter Norris’ sheep mark: A slit in the upper and under side of each ear and a slit in the end of the same. Mark recorded April 26th, 1821.
April 19th, 1821. Minutes of an alteration of a highway beginning at the center of the highway between John Kingman's dwelling and Cider House and running north 92 degrees, east 224 rods, until it intersects a highway north of Lot Stones. Also record of a road as surveyed by the Commissioners of the Town of Palmyra on April 17th, 1821, beginning in the center of the highway north of Lot Stones running east on the line between Richard Dillingham and the lines on Ezekial Southworth ----- 62 rods, thence east on the line of lots until it intersects the highway near the district school house by Jacob Barnhart.

Found in the enclosure of Shirah Houghton a ewe sheep with no natural or artificial mark, except her tail cut off. She was found about the first day of September, 1820. Dated: May 4th, 1821.
May 18, 1821. Zebulon William's sheep mark: Half penny in the upper side of each ear. Taken from the mark of Ira Selby, page 133.
May 22. Joseph L. Johnson's sheep mark: A hold through the right ear and crop off the left ear.
June 2nd, 1821. Survey of an alteration necessary to be made in the highway leading from Palmyra Village on Road District No. 1 leading toward Pultneyville and Lyons. Said alteration is made in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of New York for the maintenance and protection of the Erie-Champlain Canal and the work connected therewith. Passed April 13th, 1820, 20th Section of said act. That part of said highway discontinued is described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point in the center of said highway which bears north 9 degrees and 30 minutes east, 1 chain, 2 links from the northwesterly corner of Henry Jessup's farm yard, thence north 35 degrees, 45 minutes, east 11 chains, 25 links along the center of said road to a stake in the center of said road at the end of said alteration. The road as now established begins at the point in the center of said highway situated as first above described and where the alteration commences, thence south 60 ½ degrees, east 6 chains and 80 links to a stake in the center of said road, thence north 37degrees, east 9 chains, 17 links to a stake standing in the center of said highway where the alteration above mentioned ends.

A record of an alteration of a road as surveyed by the Commissioners of Highways of the Town of Palmyra on the 6th day of July, 1821, beginning on the south side of the highway 2 rods west of Dorastus Cole’s west line and running south 4 degrees, west 180 rids and 17 links across Zebulon Williams’ land until it intersects the highway on land formerly owned by William Jackway as previously surveyed by Isaac Durfee and Luman Harrison, the then Commissioners of Highways for the Town of Palmyra. A correct survey according to the town compass and chain.

Memorandum of an alteration of highway carved by the canal and beginning 2 rods north of the canal fence on the town line between Farmington and Palmyra running east 14 degrees, north 28 rods to intersect the highway as previously surveyed near the southeast corner of said town and recorded as surveyed by the old compass and chain. Palmyra, July 6th, 1821.
