Project
Timeline: Beginning August 2000 Project Budget: $292,400 (HUD), $100,000 (Canal
Corporation), $50,000 (NYS Parks/EPF), $25,000 (DEC Pumpout Grant)
The heart of
Palmyra's canal improvements program is its new Marina at the Division Street
bridge. It will be part of the plan to offer boaters improved services along
the entire length of the canal. It will provide a direct connection between the
canal and downtown Palmyra, and help to fuel the economic revitalization that
the Canal Corridor Initiative envisioned, with increased tourist traffic to the
village.
